So far, Injustice 2‘s roster seems to be shaping up rather nicely, for in addition to the three aforementioned villains above, the game also includes familiar heroes like Superman, Batman, Supergirl, Flash, Aquaman,. Not to mention, similar to the previous entry in the franchise’s inclusion of Batgirl and Nightwing, the Bat-Family has grown in the series’ next installment to include Damian Wayne as Robin.
As far as Injustice 2‘s confirmed villains are concerned, NetherRealm Studios will offer a veritable murderers row of bad guys to play as when the game goes live. Aside from Bane, Poison Ivy, and Brainiac, there’s Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus, Darkseid,.
With the roster for Injustice 2 currently even between the number of heroes and villains confirmed, it’s really anyone’s guess as to who will go on to be included in the game. Previously, Injustice 2‘s creative director, Ed Boon, teased the possibility of expanding the roster to include, so there’s a chance for the cult-favorite antihero Rorschach or the seemingly invincible and omnipotent Dr. Manhattan being added. Of course, there’s also an opportunity for the game to make room for fighters outside of the DC realm, with having been hinted at becoming a part of the title.
Whoever makes the cut for this week’s reveal, NetherRealm Studios will apparently have a stacked roster for Injustice 2, for including all of the verified fighters so far, the game’s website still shows there being 20 more characters slated to be unveiled. In the past, Boone has said that Injustice 2 will feature some of the DC imprint’s more obscure characters, so here’s to hoping he picks one of the lesser known individuals from our list ofto reveal this week.
Injustice 2 is slated for release on May 16, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
