Sea of Thieves Closed Beta Hits Xbox One and PC on Jan. 24

Sea of Thieves Closed Beta is coming to Xbox One and PC on January 24 and will last for five days, until January 29, as announced on the official Sea of Thieves website today.

The Closed Beta will start on January 24, at 12 PM GMT, and will run until January 29, at 8 AM GMT. During this period, Xbox One and PC users who already joined the Sea of Thieves Insider Programme before December 1, 2017, or who have made a pre-order of the game, will be able to participate in the Closed Beta.

Those players who made a pre-order via Xbox or Windows Store will get the game 24h prior to Closed Beta testing, and it only needs to be downloaded and install it on your system. For those who made a pre-order of the physical version, will need a code for the Black Dock pack, and once you redeem the code, the game will appear 24 prior to Closed Beta testing.

The developers haven’t share any info on what content will be available during this period, saying:

We’ve crafted a bespoke experience for Closed Beta players that has been designed to give everyone a taste of the pirate life that they can expect in the full version of the game at release. We won’t be testing the full game during the Closed Beta phase: we want to keep a good selection of things up our sleeves for players to discover at launch.”

For those who haven’t pre-ordered the game and want to be part of the Closed Beta, the same can be done here.

Sea of Thieves is planned for a full launch on March 20.
